A Brief Sketch of Elaine Marsh
Project Director

Elaine Marsh is life-long lover of Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River.  She and her husband Harold and daughter Niki enjoy recreation in boats, bikes, skis, and hiking boots in and around these bountiful bodies of water.  Harold, her husband of 22 years is a senior research chemist at Goodyear Tire & Rubber.  Their daughter Niki is a sophomore at Beloit College in Wisconsin.

Most Cherished Affiliation

She is President and Cofounder of Friends of the Crooked River, a citizen group which advocates for the preservation and restoration of the Cuyahoga River.

  • 1994, The Cuyahoga: Portrait of a Crooked River, a video which she co-produced received an award at the North American Environmental Education Film Festival

  • 1996, The Conservation Award from the Garden Club of America

  • 1997, Water Conservationist of the Year from the League of Ohio Sportsmen

Previous Lives

She has served as Executive Director of the Cleveland Waterfront Coalition, Executive Director of the Seneca Trail Council of Campfire and Associate Director of Student Services for Aultman Hospital School of Nursing.
