Public Input Summary
Five Meetings to Review Regional Greenway Planning were held during November and December of 1997. These meetings were held in order to gather information regarding the status of greenway implementation in Ohio. The information gathered from the meetings will serve as part of the basis for The Blueprint for Action, an action agenda for a statewide greenway initiative. As public comment is a basic part of any planning process, these meetings provided opportunity for greenway developers to comment on their experiences in Ohio.
Time and Place. Five regional meetings were held. A total of 213 participants attended.
Meeting Sponsors: Ohio Greenways, Ohio Parks and Recreation Association, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Rails to Trails Conservancy, Ohio to Erie Trail Fund, Rivers Unlimited, The Conservation Fund, National Park Service/Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program.
The public input was used to craft A Blue Print for Action.
